Almost all activities of the Bauko people are affected by the agricultural cycle done within the community. Their rituals, songs and dances are composed based on the feelings, mode and environment they are living.

MUSIC

           Music of the bauko people are mostly done through chanting.

KINDS of music


Dokdokati

It is the Bagbagto version. It is used as an entertainment for children and most often to tease their companion.

Is a love song recounting the journey of a man to a woman or a woman to man in their love life experiences.

Sokod ko’y taw-wa taw-wa

Inpadsek ko’s batawa

No sino ka’y nangala

Dalos ta man-asawa


Sokod mo’y taw-wa taw-wa

Inpadsek mo’s batawa

Tinongok san nangala

Adiyak ibagbaga


No tinongom san nangala

Sokod ko’y taw-wa taw-wa

Dan mo et ibaga

Dalos ta man-asawa



Ug-gayam

It is used in festivals and any happy occasions. The theme depends on the activity celebrated.


Dad-dad-at/Liwliwa/sapsap-it


It is a ballad. Telling stories, legends in chanting manner. Mostly done by old folks in an ato or when they met in a certain house or place.

Chants done by men in sitting position with a lead man chorus by the rest

Daing

Chants done by old folks in hand in hand position.


Bay-yao

A  song for the dead recounting his past achievements.


Kadongyasan

It is for the dead where one tells his wishes, pleads, stories.
