Lomon, Kapangan, Benguet. Computers and internets are the new additions to the Municipal Hall of Kapangan as launched and tested July 13, 2010. Joining forces are the Community e-Center, FITS-Techno Pinoy and ANTS Technologies Internet Solution to bring the long awaited change in the area. Each agency presenting their own concepts, visions and missions after the ribbon cutting and CeC and Fits Center blessing. The Memorandum of Agreement among the agencies were also signed, surmounting to their commitments to the joint program.
The launching marks a milestone in the technology history of Kapangan, something welcomed with great anticipation especially those in offices and schools. People there used to travel to Baguio City or La Trinidad to be able to use the internet and send necessary documents thru emails, something very necessary in today’s communications. The clamor for the internet to be introduced in the area was solved finally with ANTS Technologies, Inc. picking it as their pilot municipality to launch a comprehensive end-to-end IT solution.
Ants Technologies is an IT integration company newly established providing comprehensive IT solutions to the local government and private business sectors in North and East Luzon, bringing fresh and informative approach to their clients by thoroughly understanding the needs and concerns. Ants Tech explains the tailored solutions and create industry-standard solutions to meet their client’s expectations. In the pursuit of these goals they partnered with other agencies such as PLDT, BENECO, En Genius Techs, EWPSi, New Grounds Solutions, PC Compumart, and Siemon Company.
Kapangan is an agricultural municipality so farmers compose most of the work force. The internet is one of the most advanced source of information they could access to further the business. Comes the Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS)-Techno Pinoy program which is a one-stop service facility addressing the farmers, and entrepreneurs of a locality. With the creation of Kapangan’s Community e-Center (CeC) managed by Bruno M. Canuto and the entrance of FITS and ANTS, the municilality is now linked to various organizations and agencies and to the host of new technologies.
Mayor Roberto K. Canuto in welcoming the technology also hosted the guests and presentors in the person of Dr. Rogelio Colting (President of BSU), Dr. Son Wright Maddul (Consortium Director), Henjie Vilaga (Ants President), Dr. Teresita Mangili (TGP Coordinator), and Ms. Irene Gonzales (IT Coordinator – CAR).
