Art we say is in the eye of the beholder. It is described as an expression of one’s creativity and imagination embodied in a physical form for various interpretations or abstract manner as in a practice of some sort. Lifted from the Latin word “artis” it usually connotes skills and crafts. The word itself has meaning beyond simple description. It is sometimes contained or broad in scope, sometimes simple and yet very complicated. Lores on the other hand are seen to be accumulated knowledge over spans of time on certain subjects or matters, or traditional beliefs.

COMPARING THE MARKS - The marks may be the same but sometimes they do have different interpretations of it.

Cordillera's Statement of Gratitude and Prayers for Her Excellency Former President Corazon C. Aquino
STATEMENT OF GRATITUDE TO AND PRAYERS FOR
HER EXCELLENCY FORMER PRESIDENT CORAZON C. AQUINO

The Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) through the local chief executives, directors of government line agencies, allied government institutions, civil society partners and other members of the Regional Development Council (RDC) in representation of the people of the Cordillera mourn the death of the former President of the Republic of the Philippines, Her Excellency Corazon C. Aquino.

In the same breath, we celebrate the life, passion and courage of the First Woman President who restored democracy in our country.

Here in CAR, we shall always look up to Her Excellency as the Mother of our Administrative Region. Though we look at CAR as the product of a people’s struggle, starting from our people’s love of independence; ardor for participatory democracy; and attachment to our ancestral land, we shall always remember that it was her presidency that gave national credence to the struggle of the Cordillera people for self-determination and self rule.

ABOUT THE CORDILLERA ADMINISTRATIVE REGION

I.  A GLIMPSE OF HISTORY

The old MountainProvince was composed of Benguet, Ifugao, Bontoc, Kalinga and Apayao.  But on June 1966, Republic Act No. 4695 known as the Division Law divided the old MountainProvince into four regular and independent provinces namely Benguet, Ifugao, Mt.Province and Kalinga-Apayao. Abra was a separate independent province lodged with Ilocos
Sur.

Dead men do tell tales.

The first mummified warrior to gain wide acclaim was Apo Anno. Stolen from Buguias, a town of Benguet in the Cordillera region of the Philippines in 1918, his remains were displayed in the NationalMuseum in Manila for twenty years. Heavily tattooed, as if charting the rugged plains and mountains that served as battlefields, Apo Anno was claimed by Kalanguyas, Ibalois and Kankanaeys as their own.
