A long time ago in one of the villages of Bontoc live a cruel couple. Their cruelty extends even to their two children – a son and a daughter – in spite of their being industrious and obedient. The children always worked hard but it never satisfied their cruel parents and they were always scolded for not doing enough.
There was once a lady named Lily who lived in Maeng (present day part of Abra). She was always teased by her playmates telling her that she never belonged to their group. The boys always made fun of her. They throw stones and shouts at her every time she passed by a group of people.
A long time ago, some people started to live in a place where many turtles dwell. As they have not seen turtles before, they thought that these are just beautiful kind of stones. They haven’t yet seen these turtles move.
